Which
class is right for me?
Adult Basic Education (ABE)
classes are designed to provide
basic skills instruction for adults
18 and older whose math and reading
skills have been assessed at or
below the GED readiness level.

Many adults enroll in ABE with a
long-term goal of the GED exam;
however, they may need the basic
skills instruction of ABE to be
ready for the GED test-preparation
course.
General
Educational Development (GED®)
Preparation
classes are designed to prepare
adult students, 18 and older, for
the GED High School Equivalency
exam. Generally, students must
demonstrate reading, writing, and
math skills above the 8th grade
level to be properly enrolled in
the GED review course.
This
course prepares students for
the five subject area tests
of the GED battery:
math, science, social studies,
reading,
and
writing skills.
Textbooks and internet based
materials are available for use
in the classroom and at home.

An
assessment is given at registration
that will help with proper class
placement. Most of our classes meet
twice a week; however, we also offer
"Fast Track" classes for those
students whose initial assessment
indicates readiness to take the
test.
When are classes held?
Classes run from
September through May, with a winter
break in mid-December.
